World Kindness Day

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On World Kindness Day it is important that we remember to show kindness wherever and whenever we can. We are so proud of the boys and girls in our school and the many acts of random kindness they show to each other and to the school staff.
We are also grateful to our parent body for the many kindnesses shown to us and to our school. In the current challenging times, it is the small acts of kindness that make a difference. Huge thanks is due to the kindness of a parent who is making sure that several children’s school costs are met this year. Thanks also is due to our local conference of the St. Vincent de Paul who makes a contribution to the school to look after small school costs that may arise during the school year. If any school family are experiencing difficult times, our local conference wants to hear from you. You can make contact online at or by ringing 01 8848200 and you will be put in contact with the local conference.

Thank you to those parents who sent in spare laptop bags this week. That allows us to begin to send out devices to those who do not have any device in the house. If you do not have any device available to your child at home, please make contact with the school office and we may be able to help.

If for any reason any school equipment cannot be provided for your child e.g. books, copies, markers. pens etc. PLEASE LET US KNOW. It is very easy to quietly remedy this situation as we want the children to have everything they need for school in order to achieve to the best of their ability. Finally, on this day I pay tribute to the staff of this school for the endless kindnesses that I witness each day. You may never hear about them, but they happen in so many ways. We are thankful to work in a school where kindness is the norm with both adults and children.

As we move into another weekend of lockdown, let us remember the difference that a small kindness makes to someone else.

A Thought for November
Be present. Let the day flow with grace. Expect nothing. Give thanks. Surrender. Be open.
SPEAK ONLY OF KINDNESS. Impart only love. Never forget you’re not alone.
Give so you may receive. See goodness in others.

Happy World Kindness Day,

We're always learning
